Combining knowledge with aesthetic vision, Studio Fabrika works with clients and other design professionals to develop design solutions that are safe, functional, attractive and meet the needs of the people using the space. We concern ourselves with more than just the visual or ambient enhancement of an interior space, we seek to optimize and harmonize the uses to which the built environment will be put.
“Design is a series of decisions that result in a series of consequences, good or bad. Good design results from making informed decisions from a knowledge base, realizing that each choice we make has a real and lasting impact on the lives of the people we serve, our communities, and the world at large. It could even be said that, as creators of environments, we are on divine assignment. What an awesome responsibility!”
Remodeling is the process of putting new life in an existing, old, outdated interior. We, at Studio Fabrika, find ourselves at ease transforming existing structures, textures, colors, layers into new vibrant, interior spaces.
Many factors come into play in formulating the design solution. There is the space itself–its dimensions and construction–with its potential and its limitations. There is how the space will be used–for work or leisure, entertainment or worship, healing or learning. There is the meaning of the space, what it signifies–be it power, authority, security, wisdom, achievement, playfulness or serenity. There are practical considerations, like ease of access, amount of light, acoustics, seating and places to store or set things down. There are health and safety considerations, attention to special needs and more.
“Design is the expression of the envelope that surrounds you at work, at home, at play, everywhere. It’s creating an experience, an emotion, or a story of your surroundings; helping life’s functions to be pleasing to the senses while organizing you.”
-Jessica Mann Amato
Set design is an important part of almost any theatre production, as almost every show will utilize some sort of set, however minimal. Sets can be abstract, highly realistic, or anything in between, and we, Studio Fabrika view it as a chance to showcase interesting concepts, new techniques, and unusual materials. The primary function of a set, of course, is to provide the audience with some context for the play, but it can also be a chance to create something stunning to draw in the audience.
We do our best to always be innovative and original; we take inspiration from almost anything or any place, and we never stop thinking about creative ways to help tell a story. As set designer, we not only have to create a concept that is in line with the director’s vision, but also have to decide how it will be built, painted, and decorated. The look of the stage as a whole is largely our responsibility, and it can be as interesting as our imagination and ingenuity can create it from nothing.
“To me, design is about the hope that sparks in an insight… an insight that often springs whole from moments of clarity in seeing into a systems’ behavior… an insight that allows others to see and engage, building toward an inventive and useful whole.”
People have practiced landscaping for centuries. As far back as the ancient Mayans, humans were manipulating the land for both aesthetic and practical reasons. The addition of plants, changes to the existing terrain and the construction of structures are all part of landscaping. Today landscaping refers to the planning, laying out and construction of gardens that enhance the appearance and create useable space for outdoor activities around a building.
We believe that the integration of landscape elements is a key part of the design as a whole, whether it is a residential or commercial project, and do our best to create a both aesthetic and well organized outdoor space.
A consultant’s job is to consult. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s that simple. There’s no magic formula or secret that makes one consultant more successful than another one, but still there is something that separates a good consultant from a bad consultant, and we know we are good consultants because we have the passion, the knowledge and the drive for excellence, and that really does make a difference
